2018년 9월 고1 모의고사 34번 지문을 다시 살펴보고자 합니다.

문맥을 읽고, 논리를 역어가는데 좋은 지문과 문제입니다.

 

If you ask a physicist [how long it would take a marble to fall from the top of a ten-­story building], he will likely answer the question by assuming that the marble falls in a vacuum. In reality, the building is surrounded by air, which applies friction to the falling marble and slows it down. 이렇게 세 문장을 보고 동사 'take'의 쓰임에 대해 익히면 되겠습니다.

 

The trip should take us about three days.

이와 함께 원문과 비교도 좋을 것같습니다. 학교 서술형 문제로 오히려 원문의 문장형식을 제시할 수 있다고 봅니다.

(2) make it easier to understand 과 관련해서는 'it'의 역할이 무엇인지 서술형으로 물어본 학교도 있었는데요.

it은 소위 말하는 가목적어가 아닙니다. 'the complex world'를 지칭하는 Pro-NP입니다. raising이 된거죠.
